A Football Report

– Simple, honest, down-to-Earth, occasionally amusing. What more could you want from a football blog?

Arsenal Column

– A superbly in-depth tactical analysis site focusing on Arsenal.

Arsenal Report

– Another Arsenal tactical blog, which is wonderfully presented and has an excellent crop of writers.

Aston Villa Central

– A Villa blog chock full of content. Particularly good at news, and for keeping up to date with Villa players domestically and internationally.

Aston Villa Life

– Varied and wide-ranging content. Seems to attract many of the saner Villans too.

Chronicles of Almunia

– Written by a (disgustingly young) Gooner, CoA has a whole range of Arsenal-related stuff.

Dispatches From A Football Sofa

– A regularly-updated site with consistently good content and long, absorbing articles.

Equaliser Blog

– Detailed and wonderfully diverse, the Equaliser covers football from all continents and tries to look at how football affects the culture it is in.

Five in Midfield

– A well-written blog that covers football in all kinds of forms, both on the pitch and off it.

Just Football

– Vast amount of content from all over the world, written by an array of good writers.

Lovely Left Foot

– Putting aside their rather unhealthy obsession with left-footed things, LLF is a wonderful site with some high-quality articles. Check out their series on Lovely Left Footers, too.

Onestepovertoomany

– Funny, bizarre, and wonderful. One of my favourite blogs.

Roker Report

– A specialist site for Sunderland fans. I recommend the Roker Rhymes section. And yes, it’s poetry about Sunderland.

Snap Kaka Pop

– A Brazilian football blog well known for its detail and depth.

Swiss Ramble

– A very well known blog dedicated to the economics of football. Staggeringly in-depth. Not for light reading, but the quality of the writing itself is fantastic.

The Dirty Tackle

– The Dirty Tackle has a huge amount of content, ranging from Welsh Division Two to European competitions.

The Elastico

– Well-presented and varied, The Elastico also offers occasional interviews with the likes of Asamoah Gyan

The Football Express

– Mostly focusing on Italy, there are also occasional tactical reviews done that are of high quality.

The Football Front

– I did a few articles for them, so they must be good.

The Football Project

–  Podcasts! European competitions! Scrolling picture bar!

The Football Ramble

– Long-running, high quality blog. Also, another scrolling picture bar!

The Shin Guardian

– It’s a blessing when all I need to say about a site are the words “Beer and Soccer Series” to describe how good it is.

 The Tireless Midfielder

– Stats. So many beautiful stats and analysis everywhere.

The Villa Blog

– News, opinions and discussion on Aston Villa.

Twisted Blood

– An amusing and occasionally surreal take on football across Europe.

Young Guns

– A well laid-out blog covering Arsenal’s youth prospects and tracking them both domestically and internationally.

Zonal Marking

– THE site for any tactics nerd. Has spawned many imitators, but is still the best around.
